LPHS
BASKETBALL
BAND
The LPHS Bands provide the musical entertainment and
environment for all home varsity basketball games. With the recent induction of
the LPHS Percussion Ensemble, we are able to provide music at ALL BOYS & GIRLS
HOME BASKETBALL GAMES!
Our repertoire consists of many modern musical
favorites as well as traditional standards. Our bands pride themselves in
playing a variety of musical styles that not only appeals to the many tastes of
our athletic audiences, but also creates the athletic atmosphere that helps make
our L-P basketball games an excitement to experience.
The LPHS Basketball Band
provides the music for all Boys Varsity Basketball Games :
- November 26 v Ottawa (JV)
- December 7 v Ottawa (B&G)
- December 15 v Sandwich
- January 15 v St. Bede
- January 18 v Streator
- January 29 v Plainfield South
- February 1 v Geneseo
- February 2 v Rockford East
- February 15 v Sterling
- February 22 v Dixon
The LPHS Percussion Ensemble
provides music for all Girls Varsity Basketball Games :
- November 29 v Sterling
- December 4 v Streator
- December 7 v Ottawa (B&G)
- December 8 v Peoria Woodruff
- January 12 v United Township
- January 31 v Geneseo
- February 7 v Dixon
PROCEDURES FOR PARTICIPATING MEMBERS
OF EACH ENSEMBLE:
• All members of the LPHS Band are required to play 7 out of 10 home boys
basketball games.
• All members of the LPHS Percussion Ensemble are required to play 5 out of 7
home girls basketball games.
• Game selection forms are due in to the band office by Monday, November 12th,
2007. Members without game selection forms will be automatically assigned to
games.
• Conflicts with assigned games must be pre-approved to be excused. All excused
absences from games must be replaced with another game performance.
• Bonus points are awarded for individuals who meet their requirements and play
additional games. Individuals who do not meet the minimum requirements will not
receive bonus points for non-scheduled games.
• See your director for details regarding game uniform. All participants must be
in proper "uniform" to participate.
