L-P Percussion Ensemble

The L-P Percussion Ensemble is a curriculum course of LPHS which meets 2nd hour every school day and is open to any high school student interested in studying the fundamentals of performing on percussion instruments and who want to make a positive contribution to the LP High School music program and school. [First semester freshman percussionists are automatically enrolled in this course and have the option of auditioning for the band course beginning their second semester.] Students without previous experience may enroll in this course to learn about music, ensemble playing, and how to play percussion instruments.

All percussion ensemble members participate in the Marching Band at the beginning of the school year. This rehearsal schedule includes Tuesday night rehearsals (6-9pm) as well as Thursday after-school rehearsals (3-4pm). The marching band performs at all home football games, several parades, and various festivals and competitions throughout the state. These performances occur outside the school day and often on weekends. Once the marching band season is over, students rehearse indoors as a percussion ensemble/class and work towards performances at the school Christmas Concert, the LP Band Festival, and the Spring Concert.

The next feature performance of the
L-P percussion ensemble is:
